Kissimmee Lakefront Park

Kissimmee isn't all about Disney and theme parks. Even after living in the area for 6 years I had no idea this park existed. Even on a dark and moody day it was full of families enjoying the grass, covered areas and the lake.

There were two wonderful playgrounds, and a splash park for kids.

Anyone can book the shelters, and the day we were there we saw a birthday party, a wedding and a baby shower.

I especially loved the way the park lit up at night, which even in the rain looked bright and cheerful.

There's also a restaurant called Shipwrecked In The Islands that is right across the road if you are feeling peckish.
