Warren Park
Nestled off Daetwyler Road, and only a 5 min drive from the airport, Warren Park is a hidden haven away from the hustle and bustle.
The park has a large green field area for kids and adults alike to play soccer, along with two tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, and numerous grilling areas (some undercover). There's also a large pavilion with power that can be booked by calling Orange County Parks at (407) 254-6860. Popular at weekends, I've seen many events held here, including meet-ups, children's birthday parties, and baby showers.
Protected from the blazing sun by a canopy of oak trees and Spanish moss, the playground is large, and has swinging seats surrounding it for a weary parent to rest their tired feet. Next to the playground are a set of four toddler-sized picnic tables.
There's a paved sidewalk that winds around the park, which is approximately 0.3 mile long with several exercise stations dotted around it. A favorite amongst keep-fit folk, Warren Park is used daily by runners, and joggers; with the odd Yoga enthusiast stretching in the corners. You might even spot the odd bookworm reading a novel whilst lazing in a hammock that's been strung up between two trees.
A favorite with local businesses, people take time out of their busy work day to recharge their batteries and eat their lunch, or take a stroll around the park.
Across the road is a smaller park that sits on the bottom part of Lake Conway. This park also has some picnic tables and grills (none undercover) along with a small playground area. A recent addition consists of a boat launch for non-motorized craft such as paddle boards, kayaks and canoes.
