Crabby Bill's

St Cloud

One lazy Sunday afternoon we decided to try and find a restaurant on the waterfront within easy driving distance (we live about 5 miles south of downtown Orlando) to while a way a few hours. For a state swimming in lakes (see what I did there) finding nice restaurants with a water view in Central Florida can be somewhat hit and miss.

Someone I know recommend a fish camp north of East Lake Toho, but after reading a few dodgy reviews on the web, I decided to skip that, and more by chance than design happened across a fish restaurant called Crabby Bill's situated on East Lake Toho, in the Lakefront Park Marina, in St Cloud, Florida.

We arrived around 1:30pm and after a short 15 minute wait at the bar we were seated outside. I went for the crab legs. Not something I had eaten before, but boy they were good. I had no clue how to eat them so got in a right mess, and enjoyed every minute of it.

The place was hopping and service was a little slow, but that didn't bother us at all. Unbeknown to us, a band plays late on Sunday afternoons, and we started to notice locals gathering around the edge of the dinning area with a drink in their hands.

The band came on around 3:30ish (I think, don't hold me to that) and we relaxed for another couple of hours enjoying the food, drink, the music and the local vibe which is no mean feat, because my other half usually likes to eat and run.

I loved this place. We went back a couple of months later, this time on a Saturday afternoon. There was sadly no band playing that day, but the food and the vibe was just as good. To walk off the mammouth amount of crab I had eaten, we strolled along the water front watching the boats come in and out.
