Teak Restaurant

Best Burgers, Ever!

I'm not sure how it happened, but our attention was drawn to an article in the Orlando Sentinel describing the best burger restaurants in Orlando, and while we drooled over the picture, we had to admit the burgers at Teak Restaurant looked so appetizing, that we couldn't resist. I mean, how can you ignore burgers with names such as "The Drunken Monk" and "Engine Oil?"

So, off we trotted one day in May to hunt the Teak Restaurant down. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon, we were starving and had nothing better to do. And I'm so glad we stopped by.

Tucked away in a residential area of Metro West, it's not the kinda place you would stumble upon accidentally. You need to go look for it, but when you do you will be so happy you did.

The restaurant has a large outside patio area, along with with a rustic indoor ambience that we loved.

The burgers weren't a let down either. Come hungry because you will need plenty of room, the burgers are huge and delicious.

Sunday Brunch is pretty amazing too. Live music, a Bloody Mary bar and bottomless mimosas. What else could you ask for? I devoured the Low Country Blues Benedict which consisted off Blue crab, asparagus, and poached eggs over toasted baguettes with Old Bay hollandaise. My husband had the Piglet (Pulled pork, ham, and bacon with fluffy scrambled eggs, cheese, and breakfast potatoes wrapped in a flour tortilla), which while he enjoyed, he said he much preferred the burgers. But hey, who's to say you can't have burgers for brunch?

As I mentioned it's off the beaten track, so not a restaurant you will just stumble across, but if you are staying in the Universal theme park area and want to get away from the tourist hustle and bustle, Teak is only about an 10-15 min drive, and you won't be disappointed.
